01 — Marketrail for stays
Open a stays marketplace for your region.
Marketrail for stays runs the whole marketplace: hosts list places and sync their calendars, guests see the exact total and book instantly, and every dollar moves on schedule — your commission at payment, the host's payout 24 hours after check-in.

[ ) check-out 10:00 AM, check-in 4:00 PM — same day, no overlap
A two-week calendar for Larch Hollow A-frame: a confirmed four-night stay ends on the check-in day of the stay two guests race for. One request gets a 30-minute hold; the other is refused with a 409 and told when the nights free up. After payment the hold becomes a confirmed stay. An owner block and an imported calendar block follow later in the strip.

Every booking runs this line. Each station is a rule in the code, not a promise in the copy. Times are local to the place (Catskills).

06 — What the code guarantees
- 1
One night, one guest.
Every occupied night lives in one table under one database constraint, so a race has exactly one winner.
6 simultaneous requests → 1 hold · 5 × 409 · 0 × 500
- 2
The price on screen is the price charged.
The quote is computed on the server and locked with the hold; if a rule changes mid-checkout, the guest sees the new total first.
total ≠ displayed → 409 + new quote
- 3
Cancellations keep their promise.
Each booking keeps a copy of the policy it was made under; editing a policy never rewrites a past booking.
refund = policy(snapshot, booked_at, check_in, now)
- 4
Hosts are paid after the guest arrives.
Payouts leave 24 hours after check-in, once per booking.
release_at = check_in + 24 h · one release per booking
- 5
Check-in details stay private.
The address unlocks on confirmation and check-in details 48 hours before arrival, for that guest only.

07 — AI proposes. People book.
Twenty-one AI features across three surfaces, under one rule: no AI writes a price, a booking, a refund or a listing — a person's click does. Without an AI key, every AI surface disappears and the marketplace works the same.
